A mediocre mind is the enemy of one that is destined for greatness. So often we aim to be around people we grew up with or with people we consider to be on our level, but everyday leaders must be sure that their influences are people who are aiming for greatness or high-leveled thinking people who challenge us. We must strive to always move towards excellence; something better; something greater than ourselves. Leaders understand that where they are now is not where they are staying. They are always preparing. As Joel Osteen once said, "crows can't hang with eagles." And so it is with people who have great vision; purpose; and a sense of urgency to get there. We must come out of our comfort zones and surround ourselves with distinguished individuals who believe that there are no limits to what they can do in this life. In short, everyday leaders are discerning about the company they keep so that they can keep moving forward.
