Do you know that you have the power to control your thoughts or quiet your mind? Practice the discipline of keeping your mind quiet? Take this test- see how long you can think about nothing or sit in a quiet room/car. If you find either of these tasks to be difficult, then you must learn to put your mind under subjection. (1.) Turn off the music or change the music to the soothing sounds of jazz then add gospel and classical music (2.) Sit by a body of water (ocean) and take deep slow breathes while refusing to think about anything (3.) Take quiet breaks at home- go into a room by yourself; close your eyes; and think of nothing. Why is this important? Lack of focus can effect your performance. Leaders must discipline their mind to be quiet in order to problem-solve, embrace reality, or listen for answers. Sometimes when we encounter diificulty we are tempted to escape in our minds. There's nothing worng with anticipating a great future because God wants us to see through eyes of faith. But we must take authority over our thoughts and train our minds to be quiet when asked.
