Have you ever went through your day and received compliments that you appreciated but then someone else said something that made you burn with anger? And so you went home and spent more time trying to understand why that one person would say such a thing instead of dwelling on the several compliments. When this happens, I believe that it is a test to see which one will you think about most- the one attack or the compliments that were meant to empower you? Very often, my 15 year old son and I have motivational talks and I like to tell him to treat his mind like a computer. When he receive insults, negative remarks, words that are intended to hurt, derogatory comments, or evil scheming ideas, permanently DELETE them. Never to be heard or thought of again. Even if it means blocking people from your life. However, when he receive compliments, friendly smiles and nods, pleasant remarks, and words that give hope, save them in the inbox. And retrieve them when needed. I believe that everyday leaders should always do the same. Serving Leaders who are Carefully Distinguished. Ready to Serve. Destined to Greatness.
