Silence is Golden

Sometimes silence is the best response. Have you ever known someone who is effective at sending a message to you with just a stare? My brother- James Douglas is very good at causing me to have conviction or correction with just a stare. His long, "you're making me mad" stare causes me to think about what I am saying or doing. Oftentimes, we want to control the situation, lash out, or have the last word. Queen Ester, OT, understood the importance of saying the right thing at the right time. She would even fast & pray before approaching the king. Simply because our words must be ordained by God and breathed with love. The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord (Prov 21:1). God controls how others receive our words but some things are not meant for us to say. It is an act of love and allows the opportunity for God to step in and mediate.
